From 21 to 23 August 2026, the annual Hong Kong Toycar Salon returned once again to Hopewell Hotel in Wan Chai. This year's event was more explosive than ever, drawing over 40,000 visitors across the three days. Tarmac Works' booth was also packed with long queues every single day. To make the most of this gathering for Hong Kong car enthusiasts, we came prepared with plenty of surprises. Whether you made it to the show or not, read on for a full recap of everything we had on offer!

LB-Kaido Works Nissan R32 Skyline x HONG KONG TAXI: 1:1 + 1:64 = Full Throttle!
Our star of this year was undoubtedly the Tarmac Works LB-Kaido Works Nissan R32 Skyline dressed in Hong Kong's iconic red taxi livery. During the setup night before the event, the project car's dramatic entrance and roaring engine already drew a crowd of staff and industry insiders — and it remained a showstopper throughout the three-day event.

The 1:64 scale model quickly became a must-have item. By the afternoon of 23 August, all on-site stock was completely sold out, making it Tarmac's best-selling item in the history of the Hong Kong Toycar Salon.

To complement the Hong Kong taxi theme, we also offered Tarmac Cards Spotlight pack, and a range of merchandise — all of which flew off the shelves quickly too.

We know that some of you reading this may not be based in Hong Kong, or may have missed the chance to come to the show and grab the model. Worry not, we've got your backs! A certain quantity of the Tarmac Works LB-Kaido Works Nissan R32 Skyline - HONG KONG TAXI 1:64 model car has been reserved for our webstore release. Keep an eye on our social media for updates!
Pandem Pocket Bunny R32 x LuLu the Piggy: Honk honk! The 豬T-R is coming!
The event was filled with cool cars, but the undisputed spotlight-stealer was our one and only cutie superstar — LuLu the Piggy! Dressed in a tuxedo, LuLu the Piggy showed up at the booth all three days, playing and taking photos with fans of all ages.

This Pandem Pocket Bunny R32 GT-R is Tarmac's second project car — compact, adorable, and absolutely irresistible in its LuLu livery.
Hong Kong racing driver Matt Solomon visited the Tarmac booth on the first day of the event, meeting LuLu the Piggy and fans. He even gifted lucky fans with LuLu the Piggy blind box figures — it seems Matt is a big LuLu the Piggy fan too!
We received overwhelming love for the 豬T-R, with many asking if a 1:64 model would be coming soon. Well, since LuLu the Piggy and Tarmac are now very good buddies, stay tuned — you won't want to miss what's next!
Lots of Love: Tarmac's Friends Who Visited Us
And Matt wasn't the only one — many of our friends stopped by throughout the weekend.
Jacob Yuen, the Hong Kong comic artist behind Final Lap, held a Meet & Greet at the Tarmac booth. His talent was truly impressive — he created original artwork on-site and signed for fans. If you love cars and comics, Final Lap is the great story and art you should read.

If Jacob is a new friend, then Tarmac fans will definitely recognize these old friends!
Kato from Liberty Walk made a special appearance at our booth, signing on our HK Taxi — a moment that got every Liberty Walk fan hyped. Racing driver Adderly Fong also joined the action, taking part in the Initial D Collection Vol.01 - 30th Anniversary - Hobby Box Live Breaking Battle. And guess what? He pulled some serial parallel cards right there on the spot — talk about luck!
Easter Eggs Hunting! Hong Kong Street Style Meets Car Culture
Whether you’re happy with it or not, while queuing up for the model, you probably found yourself taking a 360-degree tour of our booth. Did you then spot the little hidden details left by Tarmac's wonderful designers?
This year's theme was the Hong Kong taxi, and we put a lot of playful thought into the visual design — hoping to bring a smile to every visitor's face. IYKYK! 😉
Words can never be enough to express our gratitude. The Hong Kong Toycar Salon has now drawn to a close this year, but brand new projects are already rolling out one after another. See you next time!
