On the evening of September 27, the 2026 Shanghai 8 Hours crossed the finish line at the Shanghai International Circuit. When the final classification went live, one name stood out at the sharp end of the timing screens. Tarmac by Climax Racing, proudly sponsored by Tarmac Works, captured an impressive double podium, locking out second and third overall to leave an unforgettable mark on the race weekend.

After eight grueling hours of relentless wheel-to-wheel action, the #72 car clinched 2nd overall thanks to drivers Zhou Bihuang, Hu Yuqi, Cui Yuanpu and Benjamin Paque.

Hot on their heels, the #76 car crossed the line 3rd overall, piloted by Li Lichao, Adderly Fong and Ralf Aron.

As a passionate enthusiast and promoter of motorsport culture, Tarmac Works has long been committed to bringing the appeal of racing to a wider audience. In recent years, we have carried that ethos from scale models to the track itself. The 2026 Shanghai 8 Hours was another living showcase, the liveries designed by us, turning heads in the paddock.

The #72 brought the street to the track with a playful tribute to American children's show Sesame Street.

Its livery featured beloved characters, including Elmo, Cookie Monster and Big Bird, alongside many more familiar friends from America's favorite neighborhood. It lent a cheeky and light-hearted energy to the high-pressure intensity of endurance racing.

The #76 car drew inspiration from the legendary Japanese manga Initial D. Rendered in a bold monochrome palette with expressive manga lines, its 2D hand-drawn texture made it look as though it had burst straight off the comic page to the track. This marked our second time unleashing this adrenaline-packed manga tribute in a real-world endurance fight, following last year's Bathurst 12 Hour.

There was more from the #76 at Tarmac Work's onsite booth, where fans were able to get their hands on a 1/64 scale Initial D Mercedes-AMG GT3. Stay tuned for news on our overseas release of this model, as well as more exciting projects on the way.

Finishing with a double podium caps off our very first on-track campaign in mainland China in the most unforgettable way. And our journey on the track doesn't stop there—we keep moving forward, fueled by the same passion as day one.
