The legendary Mount Panorama circuit is once again set to host one of the most anticipated endurance races of the year—the Bathurst 12 Hour. As the countdown begins, Tarmac Works is proud to announce our involvement and share the exciting details of our campaign for 2026.

A Livery Inspired by Legends

Our team, Mercedes-AMG Team Craft-Bamboo Racing, revealed the striking #77 livery for this year's race. Crafted by our official sponsor, Tarmac Works, this design is a heartfelt tribute to the iconic Initial D hero car, celebrating the 30th anniversary of the beloved manga series. The livery captures the spirit of speed, passion, and legendary status that both Bathurst and Initial D embody.

All-Star Lineup Preparing for Battle

Our driver lineup is nothing short of stellar, featuring a talented roster of professional endurance racers: @aronralf, @luggiauer, and @maximilian_goetz. These skilled drivers bring a wealth of experience and determination, aiming to push the limits on the challenging Mount Panorama.

A Clear Goal: Victory at Mount Panorama

With the iconic mountain calling and the roar of engines in the air, our team heads into the race with one clear objective: to secure a breakthrough victory at Mount Panorama. We’re fueled by passion, precision, and the support of our fans, all eager to see this legendary race unfold.

Race Results and Reflection

What a week it’s been at Bathurst! We kicked off with an incredible performance in qualifying—Luggiauer, after just two push laps, set the fastest lap in Qualify 1. Back behind the wheel for the Top 10 Pole Shootout, he delivered a stellar lap, securing P2 for the race start on Sunday. An amazing achievement, but it was also a tough and demanding week for everyone involved.

Starting from the front row, we got the car into the lead right at the race's start. However, a series of misfortunate safety car periods saw us drop down the order in the first half. Demonstrating resilience, our team staged a strong comeback, climbing back into the lead as we approached the 8th hour of racing.

Unfortunately, the race took a dramatic turn during a safety car restart from P1. Some lapped cars ahead of us collided, leaving two cars blocking the circuit at Forest Elbow. Ralf Aron approached at full speed and unfortunately T-boned the Porsche sitting in the middle of the track. The crash resulted in a 27G impact, bringing our race to an abrupt end. Ralf was immediately taken to hospital in stable condition for checks.

We have already requested a review of the flag and safety procedures with Race Control, aiming to improve safety measures in that area for future races. The safety and well-being of our drivers remain our top priority.

Thank You for Your Support

While this outcome is disappointing, especially after such a promising start, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the fans for their messages of support. Most importantly, Ralf is okay, and that’s what matters most.
